Mike Commemorates Hybrid Theory's 7th Anniversary

October 24th was the seven-year anniversary of the release of Linkin Park's debut album Hybrid Theory. The album has been by far the most successful of Linkin Park records, earning them a Diamond certification, the RIAA's highest accolade, by selling over ten million albums in the U.S. alone. Worldwide estimates have Hybrid Theory's sales numbers at around twenty million copies. To this day, the album accounts for around half of the band's fourty million plus albums sold worldwide.

Mike recently posted a nostalgic blog about the album's anniversary on the band's MySpace page, recounting early stories of the band's existence, and thanking fans for their commitment throughout the years. You can read the entire blog here.

Billboard Top 200 Albums
Minutes To Midnight - #32 (Last week - #31)
Billboard Modern Rock Tracks
Bleed It Out - #2 (Last week - #3)
What I've Done - #9 (Last week - #10)
Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks
Bleed It Out - #4 (Last week - #3)
What I've Done - #19 (Last week - #19)

On this week's charts, Minutes To Midnight managed to slow the rapid decline it experienced on the Top 200 Albums charts for the previous two weeks, which saw the album fall a total of twenty spots. The album dropped one spot to #32.

The Modern Rock charts surprised us twice this week. "Bleed It Out" returned to the #2 position on the charts, after falling one spot last week. Whether the single will hit #1 is still very much up in the air. "What I've Done" also jumped one spot to #9. WID has been stubborn on the charts as of late, refusing to give up much, in any, ground.

On the mainstream charts, BIO fell one spot to #4, while WID stayed at #19 for a second consecutive week

Linkin Park Busts a Rhyme...with Busta Rhymes?

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Busta Rhymes has revealed that Linkin Park will be featured on a new track of his titled "It Looks Like We Made It" off of his highly anticipated new album, "Back On My BS" currently scheduled for a December 4th release.

“It feels like Rocky won the fight or something,”
he says of the triumphant track. “It reminds the people who are successful to go and help those that haven’t been so successful, and represent the unity between people. This song speaks volumes to the globe — it ain’t just about the ‘hood, it ain’t just about the suburbs, it’s about everybody. This is one of those songs that can’t be described better than touching the souls of the common people.”'

As of this time it is unknown as to whether or not the whole band will make an appearance, or just Mike and Chester, but we will be sure to let you know as more information becomes available.

Due to an influx of ten new albums in the top 20 of that Top 200 albums charts, Minutes To Midnight suffered its worse decline in its history on the charts, falling ten spots to #21.

Singles-wise, "Bleed It Out" stayed at the same position for a third straight week on both the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, at #2 and #5 respectively.

"What I've Done", nearly eight months removed from first hitting radio airwaves, is still kicking and screaming as its being pulled down the rock charts.
